Alexis Goldberg is an attorney licensed to practice law in California and the Republic of Mexico. She can provide legal advice and representation to clients in English and Spanish. At McDougal Boehmer Foley Lyon Mitchell & Erickson, she focuses on various areas of law, including estate planning, estate and trust administration, family, civil, and education. Most recently, Ms. Goldberg has advised college districts on immigration-related matters.
She earned a Licenciatura en Derecho degree from Universidad Autonoma de Baja California (Mexico) and a Masters of Laws in Comparative Law from the University of San Diego School of Law.
Previously, Ms. Goldberg worked for a cross-border law firm, representing clients in probate matters with assets in Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, San Miguel de Allende, and Baja California. She also represented clients in cross-border business, Mexican employment immigration, and real estate transactions involving assets in the Federal Maritime Zone in Mexico. Ms. Goldberg also interned with the University of San Diego Legal Clinic, where she gained experience drafting motions and representing clients in civil disputes.
In addition to her work at McDougal Boehmer Foley Lyon Mitchell & Erickson, Ms. Goldberg enjoys sharing her knowledge of the U.S. legal system with students and legal professionals in Mexico. She has been a guest lecturer at her alma mater and Universidad Anahuac Merida School of Law. Her dual licensure and legal experience in both countries allow her to provide a unique comparative analysis, resulting in a richer understanding of U.S. law.
Ms. Goldberg loves to spend weekends with her family, visiting the zoo and the museums at Balboa Park. She is a member of the San Diego Parents of Twins club, which supports parents in San Diego who are facing the challenge of parenting multiples.
